Pictures from this weekend Autumn's birthday weekend

I got home early Friday, making the mistake of saying, Autumn's it's your birthday weekend, and you are the boss.   The first night she had me take her to the park in the dark.    She had me pushing her on the swing and it was so cold, but she kept saying she wasn't.   I was freezing.  The next day she got up early ready to go to her birthday party.   The whole family had such a wonderful time the whole weekend.

Well it's not a road sign, I'm sure there's lots of stories of what one of these birds are a sign of.   Not sure why but my little sister loved this bird, she used to just watch them.  They scared me and I always knew there was a funny smell in the air when I saw them come around.  We did love to lay on the ground though and see if they would land.  I think I would have had a heartattack if one had.  This is one of my favorite pictures I took of one.  I also took a picture of a sign up in the area I saw this incredible bird.  I love Smokey!

This is from Tess, it goes along so well!

The vuture eats between his meals
And that's the reason why
He rarely ever, never ever
Looks as well as you or I.
His head is bald
His eyes are red
His neck is growing thinner,
Oh what a lesson for us all
To only eat at dinner!

Thanks Kimberly loved this challenge

Pictures from Dena's birthday Party

We all had a wonderful time at Dena's birthday party.  A few children got bruised up from falling out of swings, and running and falling but fun was had by all.

Autumn

You know everytime I leave, and see her waving goodbye to me, I get a big gulp in my heart.  I'm so glad I'll be going back in two weeks to see her again.  Her birthday is March 27th.   She's was such a sweetie this weekend, and funny as always.   She started taking gymnastics so she was showing me her new moves.

Eli

Eli has grown a lot, he's getting tall.  I think the reason Ethan started saying Derek, was because he heard Eli saying Uncle Derek so much.   We had fun, he swunk a lot this weekend, he did fall out his first few seconds of swinging.   We played by the pond and he fished, and I took him on a little journey of imagination.    I even gave him the camera and let him take a few pictures.  I'll post those latter and tell me if he's got an eye already.

Collage of Ethan from this Weekend

I'm going to try and do a little collage of the kids from the weekend.  Ethan was such a little ham.   He said my name for the first time this weekend.   I sure love that little fellow.   He has a deep little voice too.   I laughed when they came up on Sunday for the party.   Everyone was coming up to him and his daddy and trying to get him to come to them.   He would say no and shake his head.   When he came to me, he just put his arms in the air like come and get me, and of course I did.

Mama's sweet smile now

Not sure if I posted this one yet or not, but it was the last time I went home, she smiled that pretty smile while she was washing the dishes.

Movie Star wearing my sunglasses

I saw her staning in line at the supermarket, she had on those big glasses I guess so noone would notice her.

Naw!  It's just Autumn wearing her Uncle Derek's sunglasses.

My mom and me in the same photo booth

Young and in Love

I was just a baby when we moved to Jacksonville beach.  I was the only child also.  I look at these pictures and I see two people in love and having fun.  My first memories are of Jacksonville, funny that I live here now all these years later.  I look at video's of them with me when I was a baby, and know how much they loved me also.   More thoughts later.   Funny how after years after they've been divorced I still wish they would have stayed as happy as in these pictures.  I know exactly where they got these pictures taken, it's funny the place is stil there to this day on the boardwalk.  It's probably where my first memory takes place.  Mama loved these little photo booths, you would sit in close the curtain, and look in a mirror, and make faces.  I thought for years  that mirrors were camera's.   I used to smile and smile at the mirror at home but never any magical pictures would show up like in those booths.  I look at the funny hats and realize they were just children in a way, just having fun.  YOUNG LOVE!

Coming on Six

Can't believe she's going to be six years old in a few weeks.  Seems just like yesterday she was a baby.   I still can't believe how she's grown.

As you can see in my other blog I am a big cat, here's another one I've always loved.   The Lion!  King of the cats.   This was a picture I took of the Lion's Bridge in St. Augustine.  I used to see this statue and imagine it was a real lion at one time, it just seemed so lifelike in some way.   Then I imagined going into the statue and being inside it with all its thoughts.  Crazy thought huh.
