Happy Birthday Mom

My Mom

For as long as I can remember
she's been by my side
to give me support
to give me confidence
to give me help

For as long as I can remember
she has always been the person I looked up to
so strong
so sensitive
so beautiful

For as long as I can remember
and still today
she's everything a mother should be

For as long as I can remember
she has always provided stability within our family
full of laughter
full of tears
full of love

So much of what I have become
is because of her
and I want her to know
that I appreciate her, thank her
and love her
more than words can express

Sherry

Don't I have a beautiful sister.  Sherry was a wonderful hostess to us this weekend.  Thanks so much.  I had a lot of fun. I think we really surprised mom for her birthday, it was wonderful, the weekend just went too fast, like it always does when I go home.

What's New Pussycat?

Just this new hot pink cast!  Yep Autumn broke her little wrist last week.  I bought her a little monkey, and put it in the bed with her, so she would see it when she woke up.  She was being a little monkey and jumping from the couch, when she was told too stop, she decided to not listen and did it one more time, and fell on her wrist.  She has to wear it a few weeks, but it hasn't slowed her down one bit.

Carol by Tree

I took lots of pictures, but thought I'd put another one in, there is something about Carol's eyes that reminds me of pictures of my mom when she was a young woman.  The shape and color.

And her she is with her man.

Purple Carol

Sometimes I see a glow or a color that just radiates from a person.  With Carol it was purple.

Round Robin Challenge: My Hero

Mama is my hero!

My mom has always been so proud of me.  I always remember how she made me feel when I was little, I would bring home a picture I'd drawn in school.  These pictures were never really works of art, but she always gave them a place of honor and , thtat made me feel important and loved...  In anything I've ever done, she always let me know that she was proud of me and that's given me a confidence in myself that I carry with me whereever I go.  Her support and encouragement has meant more than she'll ever know.  I'm so grateful for her and all the love she's given me.    She wrote me in a card once that whereever I go or do or think, that I an depend on her for complete and absolute understanding, support and love forever.  She is my hero, I think back on the many times I was sick with asthma as a child and all the attention and time she spent with me and comforted me and gave me that unconditional love that I needed.  I have new respect for her, how she raised us all you would have to have the heart of a hero.   She does!

My mom is my hero because she was always there for me and always tucked me into bed every night and told me she loved me.  She was a great role model for mothers. She helped me with my schoolwork, how to deal with enemies, and how to not be lazy around the house.

One time, there was an enemy that was bothering me on the school bus, this girl was much older than me, and was disrespectful to teachers, others students, and me. Everyday, I had to tell my mom about all the things she did.  Then one day she got on the school bus with me.  She was a substitute teacher and this mean girl's ended up in the principal's office by the time we made it too school.  The girl actually tried to get bad and jump my mom.  I can't remember what the principal did to punish her, but I do know this girl never rode my bus again and never messed with me again.   She was known to jump on that school bus after school a few times, chasing it down, if anyone messed with  Sherry, Dena, or me.  This is another reason why she's my hero is because she was my first protector.  I also want to add two more heroes to Chris and Owen over at http://journals.aol.com/jeroldssis/ItsAllAboutMeIthink/ keep them in your prayers, he's looking much better.

Quack Quack

I'm not sure if I've put this in my blog yet or not, but I'm sure everyone hears the story of their first word... Mama, Da-Da, mine were quack quack, when I was little they took me somewhere, and they said I followed the duck around everywhere, when I got home they said I kept saying quack quack.

Cousin Christy and Taylor

Christy grew up part of our family, she grew up two house down from us, so she was probably at our house more than anyone, and her brother Wink.  When I look at her little girl Taylor I see Christy and Sherry and little girls playing like they used too.  It's fun when children bring back memories of our past.
